In order to vote in the 2008 presidential elections, you must be registered to do so, and the deadline to register is drawing near — Tuesday, January 15.
In Plainsboro, Township Clerk Pat Hullfish said her office will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. on weekdays, during which residents there can register to vote, and designate their party affiliations. On January 15, her office will extend hours until 9 p.m. to ensure all residents interested in registering have the opportunity to do so.
Hullfish said the clerk’s office has already seen a large number of people coming into register, especially a lot of first time voters who have just turned 18 years old, or were not old enough to vote in the last presidential election.
She said the Plainsboro clerk’s office prefers residents come in to register in person, as the staff sends the registration forms directly to the county. “If they’re registering the last day, they should get in here.”
In West Windsor, the township clerk’s office is also offering extended late night hours on Tuesday, January 15. The clerk’s office will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays until January 15, when it will be open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. West Windsor resident can also can also find voter registration applications and voter declaration of party affiliation forms on the township’s website, www.westwindsornj.org, under the election information tab.
