Intercap CEO Steve Goldin has agreed to spend $108,”000 more of his own money on a traffic study for the 350-acre redevelopment area, in order to comply with township traffic consultant Gary Davies’ recommendations.##M:[more]##
According to information Councilman Charles Morgan provided to the News, Goldin has authorized an additional $108,”000 of work requested by Davies, bringing the total cost of the study to $293,”000.
“That’s going to cost Mr. Goldin significantly more money for his traffic study, but he has agreed to do that,” Morgan added, saying that this way, when the traffic study is complete, township professionals will have confidence that the data that comes out of the study is accurate and reflects the township’s needs. The council said last month it wanted to have its professionals review Goldin’s study to make sure he was getting accurate data, rather than having the township pay to do its own study.
Davies had begun reviewing Goldin’s measures on February 1, and had issued a critique of his data collection on February 5, Mayor Shing-Fu Hsueh. Davies and John Madden have formally agreed to work with the Township Council in reviewing the Hillier plans and Goldin’s traffic study so they can provide advice to council when it meets with Hillier in the spring to give him direction in terms of finishing up his work for the township.
Hsueh says the two professionals got assurance from the council that they will get paid hourly for their time.
Council President Will Anklowitz said he wants to get all of the township officials together with the professionals at the Monday, March 3 meeting, so they can decide which input to provide to Hillier. He said he hopes to have a meeting with Hillier in April, possibly on Monday, April 7.
