Girls Winter Track

North A 15th place finish, with 8 points, at the NJSIAA Indoor Groups State Track Meet on February 17. 1,”600 run: 2.) Trish Reilly, 5:00.40.

At the sectional championship on February 10, Trish Reilly won the mile. Ryan Williams placed second ion the 55 hurdles, fourth in the 400, and fifth in the 55 dash. Kelly Callahan palced third in the 800, and Arielle Niecestro placed fifth in the high jump.

South A ninth place finish, with 12 points, at the NJSIAA Indoor Groups State Track Meet on February 17. 3,”200 run: 3.) Kellner, 11:06.79. High jump: 3.) Sammy Howell, 5-4.

The South girls’ team won the sectional championship on February 10, with 52 points. Sammy Howell won the high jump, and Katie Kellner won the mile race. Howell also placed third in the 55 hurdles, while Kellner placed second in the 2-mile. Diana Zhu: third place in high jump; Shelby Miller: fourth place in the 1-mile; Ting-Ting Zhou: fourth place in the 2-mile; Gabby Hunter: fifth place in the 400; Becky Barclay: sixth place in the 800; Ashleigh Delemos: sixth place in the 55 dash.

Boys Fencing

North (3-7) A loss to St. Augustine, 14-13, on February 20. Epee: Stefan Haas-Heye went 3-0; Joseph Behnke went 2-1; Hamad Masood went 1-2. Sabre: Michael Hui went 2-1; Rahul Modi went 2-1. Foil: William Goldhirsch went 2-1; Austin McGuire went 1-2.

Martin Gitomer took second, and Robert Goldhirsch took first place in the freshman men’s foil at the Non-Conference Freshman/Sophomore tournament on February 9.

North (3-5) The team competed in the Non-Conference Freshman/Sophomore tournament on February 9. Freshman Women’s Sabre: Daphne Ye came in third, and Rosetta Isnardi took second place. Freshman Women’s Epee: Giselle Torralba came in third. Sophomore Women’s Epee: Anjali Baliga and Stacey Janofsky tied for third. Sophomore Women’s Foil: Liliana Ma took first place.
