Sports Briefs

Charlie Carluccio, High School North graduate and current Haverford College baseball player, hit his first collegiate home run in a double header with Gettysburg.

Erin Conlon, a 2006 graduate of High School South, was part of the Stanford University Lightweight Women’s Varsity-8 rowing crew who won the Knecht Cup on April 13, on the Cooper River in Cherry Hill. The crew also won the A.W. Coggeshall Cup on April 6 with a first-place finish at the San Diego Crew Classic in San Diego. Conlon also previously rowed for the Mercer Junior Rowing Club in West Windsor.

Plainsboro resident and SUNY Canton freshman goaltender James Merrow has been selected for the All-Region III Second Team of the National Junior College Athletic Association. Merrow logged a team-high 941 minutes this year and finished 9-5-1 with a 2.42 goals-against average and a .928 save percentage with one shutout.
