American University: Andrea Shedler of West Windsor received a bachelor’s degree in communications studies. She graduated from High School North, Class of 2004.##M:[more]##
Boston University: Megan Castellano graduated with a degree in political science, summa cum laude. A member of Phi Beta Kappa, she earned half of her degree in England, by both studying at Oxford University and interning in a London law firm. Castellano graduated from High School North, Class of 2005.
In the fall she will attend Cornell University Law School to pursue a dual J.D./LL.M. degree in international and comparative law.
Duke University: Rick Bagel of West Windsor graduated with a degree in economics and certificates in marketing and management. He graduated from Peddie School, Class of 2004.
While at Duke, Bagel founded the Duke Real Estate Club, a chartered student organization devoted to building a stronger real estate network at Duke and promoting real estate learning on campus. He also organized the Downtown Durham Renovation Conference. A licensed broker in North Carolina, Bagel plans to develop a real estate business in Durham.
George Washington University: Anthony J. Tysenn of West Windsor graduated summa cum laude with a bachelors degree in economics and political science. He was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and received the Howard C. Sacks prize for outstanding academic achievement in Far Eastern Affairs. Tysenn is a graduate of High School North, Class of 2004.
Gettysburg College: Elizabeth (Lizzie) Heron of Plainsboro graduated with degrees in math and music. Valedictorian, she was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa and Omicron Delta Kappa, and was on the dean’s list every semester. She also participated in many music ensembles, tutored calculus, was a member of student council, and participated in several intramural sports activities. Heron graduated from High School South, Class of 2004.
Following an internship with a government agency this summer, she will head to Wake Forest University, North Carolina, to start a master’s program in mathematics.
Lafayette College: Danielle Blake Horowitz graduated with a dual degree in government and law and Spanish.
Mercer County College: Jorunn Evju of Plainsboro is one of the top three scholar athletes of the year. She was captain of the soccer team. Evju, who is vice president of the International Student Organization and a member of the Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society, received the Dr. Cynthia Schaffer Memorial Scholarship, given to a female student who excels both athletically and academically.
Evju will be attending Kean University in the fall to pursue her bachelor’s degree in elementary education.
Rider University: Laura Sigle is on the dean’s list. A sophomore majoring in sociology, she is a graduate of High School North, Class of 2006.
Rutgers University: Cherise Danielle Krug received her master’s degree in English, summa cum laude. A Phi Beta Kappa member, she received her bachelor’s degree from Rutgers in 2006. Krug graduated from High School South, Class of 2002. She begins teaching English at Red Bank High School in Little Silver in the fall.
