Jay Kapoor, a graduate of High School South, Class of 2007, recently served as project leader for Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE), a spring break service program in Leon, Nicaragua. He is a rising sophomore at Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business.##M:[more]##
“The project, entirely student designed and run, stressed entrepreneurship, sustainability, and empowerment, which also prompted us to establish a micro-credit initiative with the business owners we worked with,” Kapoor says. “This trip was an amazing learning experience for me and I want to share it with the WW-P community to hopefully empower college bound seniors to take on such opportunities at their respective universities. I hope that others will learn that the idea of making a difference globally can really be put to action.”
Kapoor, who is currently working at Bristol-Myers Squibb, is also a member of an all-male a cappella group at Carnegie Mellon called “The Originals,” a senator for the Student Government, and active in MayurSASA, the South Asian Student Association.
