Barbara M. Woodard, 57, of Allenstown died July 22 at her home. Survivors include a son, Curtis Woodard, of Plainsboro. Online memorial at www.wilkinsonbeane.com.

Marion A. Elmer, 85, of Hamilton Square died July 23 at Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Francis in Trenton. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Harold Embley of West Windsor. Donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Church, 540 North Olden Avenue, Trenton 08638.

Suzanne Buonanno, 76, of Lockport died July 24, at her residence. Survivors include a son, Richard Buonanno of Plainsboro. Donations may be made to the Lockport Senior Center, 315 Bewly Building, Lockport, NY 14094, or Roswell Park Alliance Foundation, Box 631, Buffalo, NY 14240.

Maria Teresa Carnevale, 97, of Princeton died July 26 at her home. She was born and raised in Pettoranello, Italy, and lived in Princeton since 1939.

Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Joanne Nini of Robbinsville, Antoinette and Nils Nelson of Hopewell, and Gloria and Robert Hutchinson of West Windsor; 13 grandchildren, Anthony Nini, Janice and her husband Dr. Fred Weinberg, Linda and her husband Joe Petrocelli, Patricia and her husband Tom Biscardi, Jeffrey and his wife Deborah Nelson, Michael and his wife Danielle Nelson, Lisa and her husband John Lewless, Christopher and his wife Rebecca Nelson, Robert and his wife Carol Hutchinson Jr., G. Anthony and his wife Rosanna Hutchinson, A. Thomas and his wife Sarah Hutchinson, William and his wife Mari Hutchinson, and Janice and her husband Daniel Hillsdon; and 23 great-grandchildren.

Kenneth Barnhart II, 85, of Plainsboro died July 26. Born in Chicago, he was an active resident in Princeton Windrows for many years. He received a degree in chemical engineering from Princeton University, Class of 1944. During and after World War II he served on minesweepers in the Atlantic, Mediterranean, and Pacific.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy L. Mueller Barnhart; sons and daughters-in-law Kenneth III and Nancy, Scott and Ouri, and Gary and Barbara; four grandchildren; and a great grandson.

Ruth Finkelstein, 86, of West Windsor died July 28 at her home. Born in Port Washington, New York, she was a resident of West Windsor for most of her life. She was active in the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen and the West Windsor Library.

Survivors include her husband Paul Finkelstein; a son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Eleanor Finkelstein of Newark, Delaware; a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Ronald Summers of Potomac, Maryland; and a brother and sister-in-law, Norman and Nourene Alper of Chicago, Illinois.

John W. Hobgood, 52, of West Windsor died July 27 while competing in the New Jersey State Triathlon at Mercer County Park. Born in Orange, he was a longtime Lawrenceville resident until recently moving to West Windsor.

He received both his bachelor’s and master’s in business and finance from Seton Hall University. A mortgage banker with National City Mortgage for the past 20 years, he was vice president of the Freehold branch.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Ashley and Michael Carunchio of Smyrna, Delaware; his son, Bryan Hobgood; his fiancee, Carol Stasko and her children, Nicole Mazurick and Jamie Stasko; his sister and brother-in-law, Rozanna and Anthony Cupo; and a niece, Cassandra Cupo.

Blanche E. Mandrik, 91, died August 1 at Pavilion at Forestal, Plainsboro. Survivors include her sons, Charles Jr. and Edward; her daughter Blanche Yates; her sister Catherine Carney; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Allen B. Wisser, 80, of Westport, Connecticut, died August 2 at Norwalk Hospital. Survivors include his son and daughter-in law Jamie and Natalie Wisser of Plainsboro. Susan N. Steele, 71, of West Windsor died August 6 at home. Born in Sioux City, Idaho, she was a West Windsor resident for 36 years. She graduated from Purdue University, and received her master’s degree in library science from Rutgers University. Steele was the supervising librarian for Mercer County Library Systems until her retirement in 2000.

Survivors include her husband R. Edward Steele; two daughters, Sally and Ann Steele; two sisters, Nancy Haase and Katy Sullivan; her mother-in-law Margaret Steele; and sister-in-law Susie Seward.

Emma Ryan, 87, of Plainsboro died August 8 at the University Medical Center at Princeton. Born in Philadelphia, she was a longtime Plainsboro area resident. She was a member of the Plainsboro Senior Citizen Club and a former member of the First Presbyterian Church of Plainsboro.

Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Kenneth Ryan; a daughter and son-in-law, Anna and Norman Matlack; one granddaughter, Catherine M.Cardozo and her husband, Carl; and two great-grandsons, Carl Thomas and Joseph Anthony.

Robert I. Brown, 85, of West Windsor died August 7 at The Elms of Cranbury. Born in New Brunswick, he lived in Fairfield, Connecticut for 32 years before moving to West Windsor six years ago.

Brown served in the Navy as a radarman second class during World War II from 1943 to 1946. A graduate of Syracuse University, Class of 1950, he received a bachelor’s degree in engineering. He worked for WHEN, the first television station in Syracuse, when he was still in college. After graduation his first job was with the Dumont Television network, the world’s first commercial television network. A longtime engineer for ITT Flygt Corporation in Norwalk Connecticut, he retired in 1991.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Priscilla F. Brown; sons Gary, Kenneth, Ronald, and Douglas; daughter Constance Lukowski; and eight grandchildren.

George Conover, 89, of Jamesburg died August 8 at the University Medical Center at Princeton. Born in Dutch Neck, he was a lifetime area resident. A graduate of Mercersburg Academy in Mercersburg, Pennsylvania, and Rider University, he was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Conover was the sole proprietor of Nassau Conover FLM Motor Company in Princeton for more than four decades. He devoted 40 years of service to the Princeton Medical Center by serving as president of both the board of directors and the PMC Foundation.

Survivors include his wife Rosann Kellner Conover of Monroe; a daughter, Robin E. Conover of Sparta; a brother, Walter F. Conover Jr. of Bradenton, Florida; three grandchildren, Scott Kopliner, Kasey Fundum, and Lindsay Varhley; three stepsons and their wives, George and Annette Kellner of Easton, Connecticut, Chuck and Judy Kellner of Seneca, South Carolina, and Dan and Darlene Kellner of McKinney, Texas; and a stepdaughter and her husband, Connie and Bill Newcamp of Hopewell. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren and nine step-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Friday, August 15, 11 a.m. at Nassau Presbyterian Church, 61 Nassau Street, Princeton. Donations may be made to Princeton Health Care System Foundation, dedicated to the new University Medical Center at Princeton, 253 Witherspoon Street, Princeton 08540.

R. Wayne Yoder, 86, of West Windsor died August 10 at the University Medical Center at Princeton. He was born in Windber, Pennsylvania. A graduate of Pennsylvania State College, he worked at American Cyanamid in the plant food division.

Survivors include his wife, Kay; three children; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sistery. A memorial service will be held Friday, August 15, at 10 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church of Lawrenceville.
