Anyone who has ever contemplated sitting on the WW-P school board now has the chance. The board is accepting applications from interested candidates to fill the spot vacated by Stan Katz, who resigned on August 7 and moved to Colorado.##M:[more]##
The board has 65 days from the time of his resignation to appoint a new board member, who will serve until the reorganization meeting following the April, 2009, school election.
Interested candidates must be able to read and write, be a U.S. citizen and have one year’s residency in the school district, have no interest in any contract with, or claim against, the board, not hold office as mayor or member of the municipal governing body, and must be registered to vote in the district.
Information packets and instructions are available at the WW-P Central Office at 505 Village Road West, Princeton Junction, or on the district’s website, www.ww-p.org.
Applications will be accepted until noon on Thursday, September 11, said board president Hemant Marathe. The board will interview the candidates during a special meeting on Tuesday, September 16, and make an appointment during its regular meeting on Tuesday, September 23.
