Winning their individual titles were Sahana Jayaraman at second singles, Lesley Norris at third singles, Annie Scharfstein and Larissa Lee Lum at first doubles, and Amanda Stanton and Mallory Wang at second doubles.

A first place team finish at the Briarwood Invitational on September 20 at Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia, finishing 1 point ahead of North Penn. Joe Rosa set a meet record at the meet, with a time of 15:33. Ryan Sleeper came in 11th overall.

Joe Rosa won the sophomore boys’ race at the Knight Invitational on September 13 with a time of 9:38.22. He had the top time overall. Jon Squeri wont the boys’ junior race. Stephen Ellwood won the boys’ senior race.

South: A first place finish at the Cherokee Challenge on September 20 in Medford. Kevin Foy finished third in the senior class race. Sam Macaluso finished seventh in the junior race. Brian Schoepfer finished fifth in the sophomore race.

High School South boys’ cross country coach Brian Gould was selected as New Jersey’s Coach of the Year in cross country by the National Federation of High Schools Association for the 2007-2008 season.

Christine Franz, a Plainsboro resident and a sophomore on Ithaca College’s field hockey team, scored a goal in the team’s win against Wooster, 6-5, on September 6. She also scored another goal against Brockport on September 10.

High School North graduate Christine Franz scored two goals and an assist so far this season for Ithaca College’s field hockey team. Her goals came in a 4-0 win over Brockport and a 6-5 win over Wooster.
