Cheryl Willois, Shannon Pope, and Stefanie Maloney, career females for West Windsor Emergency Services, are participating in the three-day 60-mile Susan G. Kolmen Breast Cancer walk on Friday to Sunday, October 17 to 19, in Philadelphia.##M:[more]##
“We collectively have over 40 years of fire, EMS, and emergency response experience,” says Shannon Pope, an emergency medical technician. “Each of us has been personally affected by breast cancer through friends and family members and decided this would be a good way to show our support. With the help of their union,
Local 3610, co-workers, friends, families, and the people that attended their fundraisers, they have raised more than $10,”000.
“Please support myself and the rest of my team in honoring all our family and friends that have lost the battle against breast cancer and other cancers,” says Pope. “Let’s not forget those still fighting.”
“For the past two years I have thought about doing the Breast Cancer 3-Day,” says Maloney, a fire fighter and emergency medical technician. “However this year, I am putting my thought into action. Shannon did this walk last year and could not express enough what an amazing experience it was. She enjoyed it so much that she formed a team for the 2008 walk. A team that I have proudly decided to join.”
“I am walking in honor of my family members (both close and extended) who have been faced with this battle, and I am walking in loving memory of my grandmother, one of the feistiest women this disease has ever come toe to toe with,” says Maloney.
“I am grateful for every donation, every warm thought and every encouraging word that comes my way throughout this experience.”
