Janet Share Zatz of West Windsor is the new assistant director of human resources in the New Jersey Courts. An attorney, she is a graduate of Cornell University and received a law degree from Rutgers School of Law-Newark.
She began her career as law secretary to appellate division Judge Leon S. Milmed and then joined the Department of Law and Public Safety as a deputy attorney general where she provided legal counsel to the Department of Civil Service, later named the Department of Personnel. From 1983 to 2004 she served as deputy director and moved up to chief of staff.##M:[more]##
Zatz held the post of deputy commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development from 2004 to 2006. She served as the director of human resources, labor relations, and workforce development from 2006 to 2008. She has been the director of administration in the Department of Children and Families since February.
In her new position Zatz will oversee the development and implementation of human resources policies and procedures as well as recruitment, classification, compensation, performance management, and labor and employee relations functions for more than 9,”000 judiciary employees.
She and her husband, Irving, have two sons: Jonathan, 24, of New York City; and Eric, 20, a junior in college.
