Gloria Trumbo, 57, of Plainsboro died December 6 at St. Barnabas Medical Center.
Survivors include her husband Tim Trumbo of Plainsboro; mother Esther Eisenstein of Montville; son Ray Trumbo of Belle Mead; and brother Steven Eisenstein of Newton.

Jean M. Ellison, 86, of West Windsor died December 15 at University Medical Center at Princeton. A West Windsor resident for more than 55 years, she worked for many years as a secretary for RCA. She was a member of West Windsor Senior Citizens.
Survivors include her husband Joseph F. Ellison of West Windsor; three nieces; two nephews; and 10 grandnieces and nephews.
Elizabeth Cooper, 85, of Plainsboro died December 18 at the Pavilions at Forrestal. Born in Trenton, she was a longtime area resident.
Lindsay E. Robbins, 59, of Elkton, Maryland, died December 19. He was a former Plainsboro resident and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Plainsboro. He was a chemical operator for Rhodia, formerly based in South Brunswick, before moving to live with his daughter and her family.
An Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he received an Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and two overseas bars.
Survivors include his wife, Karen D. Robbins of Elkton; daughter and son-in-law, Laura Lee and Sherif Magee-Eskaros; and grandchildren, Luke, Aiden, Anthony, and Matthew.
Frank Katona, 81, of Plainsboro died December 23. A lifelong resident, he was a wheat and potato farmer who worked on his land in Cranbury and Plainsboro. During the 1970s, he was a Plainsboro Rescue Squad volunteer and trustee. Survivors include his daughter, Doreen K. Apple; son and daughter-in-law Frank Jr. and Janice Katona; and granddaughter Lauren R. Apple.
Joan Singer, 61, of West Windsor died December 23. Born in Philadelphia, she was raised in West Windsor, and graduated from Princeton High School. She retired in 2005 as a legal secretary for RCA, GE, and Thomson Licensing.
Survivors include her brothers and sisters-in-law Charles Hoffman and JoAnn Russell of Florida, and Ronald Hoffman and Jane Arrington of Hopewell; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friend Harold Coyne.

John M. “Poppy John” Steeber, 97, of Monroe died December 24 at Cranbury Center. Born in Jerome, Pennsylvania, he moved to West Windsor in 1991.
Steeber retired as a foreman in 1974 from Rohm and Haas in Bristol, Pennsylvania, after many years of employment. He served in the Army during World War II, including the Normandy invasion. He was a member of VFW Post 6495 and participated in activities at the West Windsor Senior Center. A volunteer with the West Windsor Little League, he was awarded the “Volunteer of the Year” award in 2001.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Carolyn and Andy Lupo of West Windsor, with whom he resided, and grandsons Jonathan and Ryan Lupo.

Evelyn Goldstein Lewis, age 94, of West Palm Beach, Florida, died at home on December 25. Survivors include her son Neil Lewis, deputy mayor of Plainsboro, his wife, Nancy Lewis, and grandchildren Anne and Adam Lewis.

Sharon Helen Carol Sabo Bilanin, 59, of Princeton died December 28 in Princeton. She was born in Paterson.
She earned her master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Wheelock College in Boston, and was a substitute teacher for the West Windsor Plainsboro Regional Schools. She worked with D.A.R.E., Angel Wings in Trenton, co-chaired the Princeton Hospital Fete, was a board member of the Family Guidance Center, New Jersey State Symphony Orchestra, and the Chapin School, was a certified master gardener, a member of the Junior League of Greater Princeton, the Present Day Club, and The Bay Head Yacht Club.
Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Alan; children Jared, Jason and Abby; and grandchildren, Maya, Isabella Sharon and Avery Sharon; as well as her godchildren, Lisa, Benjamin, Cameron, and Jamaica Sharon.

Margaret B. Opalski, 82, of West Windsor died December 30 in Hamilton Continuing Care Center in Hamilton. Born in Ashley, PA she was a longtime resident of West Windsor and was an original Levittowner.
She retired from the Pennsylvania Railroad/Amtrak after many years of service and was the first woman assistant branch manager for the Trenton Trust Company. Opalski was a member of St. Gregory the Great Roman Catholic Church and of the Keenagers of West Windsor.
Survivors include her husband, Victor Opalski, a frequent contributor to the West Windsor & Plainsboro News; a son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Maureen O’Neill of Levittown, Pennsylvania; her grandchildren and their spouses, Kelly and Patrick McCrorry, Kevin and Jenette O’Neill, and Michael Patrick O’Neill; four great-granddaughters, Brianna, Makayla, Serena, and Kayleigh; two step-sons and their wives, Doug and Helene Opalski of Plainsboro, and Phil and Janice Opalski of Hamilton Square; and her step-grandchildren and their spouses, James Opalski and his fiance, Melissa Tussein, Mark and Karen Opalski, Michael and Marilyn Opalski, and John and Erika Opalski.

Rose M. Gasser, 86, of West Windsor died January 2 at Princeton Care Center, Princeton. Born and raised in Newark, she lived in West Windsor since 1987.
She retired after many years with the National State Bank of Avenel. She was a member of St. David the King Church in West Windsor.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol Gillette of Albrightsville, Pennsylvania, and Patricia Guerry of West Windsor; two brothers, Vito and Joseph La Corte of New Jersey; two sisters, Claire Wigert of Florida and Josephine Zeck of New Jersey; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 5, at 9:30 a.m. at the Mather-Hodge Funeral Home, 40 Vandeventer Avenue, Princeton. The clergy of St. Paul’s Church will officiate. Burial will be in St. Gertrude’s Cemetery, Colonia.
Rose Mary Palermo, 95, of East Windsor died January 2 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Hamilton.
Born in Union Hill, Ms. Palermo was formerly a resident of Teaneck for 32 years and also West Windsor for 14 years before moving to Bear Creek Assisted Living. She was a registered nurse at Christ Hospital in Jersey City for many years.
Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law Lenore and William Schwartzkopf; two nieces, Lenore Isleib and Linda Ziemba; two nephews, Rev. Gary Schwartzkopf and Roy Palermo; four grandnephews and three grandnieces.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 6, 9 a.m., at the A.S. Cole Funeral Home, 22 North Main Street, Cranbury. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, 251 Franklin Street, Hightstown. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
