The West Windsor Arts Council saw the township take one more step towards getting the organization into its future home, the old Princeton Junction Fire House.##M:[more]##
The Alexander Road building was promised to the Arts Council officially last year after a six-year period of setbacks and delays. Township business administrator Chris Marion said a contractor has already conducted a review with township engineer James Parvesse, and is expected to deliver a report before the end of the month.
The contractor, Jim Foran, was hired for $3,”500 to develop specifications on what must be done to bring the 7,”200 square foot building up to code. As per agreement, the township will do so before handing the building over to the Arts Council with a 10-year lease. The council will be responsible for making it a working arts center.
The Arts Council, led by executive director Eduardo Garcia, has said it can not begin fund raising for building upgrades until it knows what needs to be done, and at what cost.
