Grace N. Thomson, 92, of West Windsor died March 6 at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital, Hamilton. Born in Jersey City, she was a longtime Staten Island resident before relocating to Bear Creek Adult Assisted Living in 2004. She attended Dutch Neck First Presbyterian Church.

Charles P. Selmasska, 88, of Plainsboro died March 9 at Bayshore Medical Center. Born in Nutley, he lived in Pompton Plains and Toms River before moving to Plainsboro in 1993. An experimental test engineer for aviation engines and jet engines, he retired in 1980 from Curtis Wright after 36 years.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Joanne and Johnn Kellgren of Hickory, North Carolina; brother-in-law and his wife, Ted and Vi Klim; grandchildren, Carl and Stacey Kellgren, and Eric Kellgren; and great grandchildren Ian, Angelina, and Katarina Kellgren.
Frederick J. “Fred” Stives, 84, of Trenton died March 14 in Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton after a long illness. Born in Princeton and raised in West Windsor, he was at Ground Zero when the Martians landed in Orson Wells’ “War of the Worlds.”
He served in World War II as a crew chief for B-24, B-17, and B-29 bomber aircraft, and was honorably discharged as a sergeant from the U.S. Army Air Corps.
A longtime painting contractor, the most notable customer was Albert Einstein. A founding member of the Ozark Sportsmen Club, he served as president and captain. A trainer and equipment manager for Steinert High School, Stives will be honored in Steinert High School’s Hall of Fame in April for his more than 30 years of service to their football program.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Marjorie G. Stives; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Jeanne Stives of Hamilton; a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and John Coughlin of Woodbury, Minnesota; four grandchildren, Sean Stives and Christine, Jennifer, and Jay Coughlin; two brothers, Jack Stives and Courtney Renegar; and two sisters, Dorothy Coffee and Janet Stathopulos.

Evelyn C. Danser, 94, of Plainsboro died March 16 at home. Born in Manalapan, she lived in Cranbury and Hightstown before moving to the Pavilions at Forrestal in 1999. Raised on the family dairy farm, she was married to the late Oscar Y. Danser, a potato farmer for 53 years.

Alfred Karlowitsch, 84, of North Port, Florida, died March 23 at home. Born in Alt Palanka, Yugoslavia, he lived in Germany until he came to the United States in 1955. He lived in West Windsor for 38 years, owning and operating Al’s Construction Company.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Eleonore Karlowitsch; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Brigitte and James Formolo, Edith and Scott Anderson, Madelene Karlowitsch and fiance Ed Harcar, Annette and Jerry Arlt; one son and daughter-in-law, Alfred and Cindy Karlowitsch; grandchildren, Christina and Paul Drum, Darlene Mansue, Kelly and Jason Murdock, Lindsay and Jared Lilly, Will and Stacy Karlowitsch, Laura Karlowitsch and partner Rob Dill, Alfred Karlowitsch Jr., Katie and Ashley Karlowitsch, Kenny and Amanda Arlt; and four great-grandchildren, Jacob, Emily, Jack, and Anderson.

Richard Allen Leedom, 72, of Lawrenceville died March 25 at Compassionate Care Hospice in Trenton. He was a truck driver for SHM Mailers in West Windsor for 35 years before retiring in 1999.

Joan E. Hall, 75 of West Windsor, died March 26 at Compassionate Care Hospice, Trenton. Born in Trenton, she resided in West Windsor most of her life.
A licensed practical nurse for Mercer Medical Center in the maternity ward, she previously worked for Greenwood House in Ewing and various local hospice organizations. She was a member of Princeton Baptist Church of Penns Neck.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Gay and Dennis Huber of West Windsor, and Patricia and Greg Cavanaugh of Kissimmee, Florida; one brother and sister-in-law Donald and Loretta Holmes of Stuart, Florida; three granddaughters Rana, Dawn, and Tara Huber, all of West Windsor; niece and nephew, Elizabeth and John Basler; and a great nephew Jay Basler.
Calling hours will be Friday, March 30, 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral will be held Saturday, March 31, at 10 a.m. at the Mather-Hodge Funeral Home, 40 Vandeventer Avenue, Princeton. The Rev. Bill Webb will officiate. Burial will follow in Penns Neck Cemetery in Princeton Junction.
