Alger Frederick, a High School South graduate, played in seven games for the American University men’s soccer team, starting once. The team had a 6-9-3 overall record this year, with a 3-2-2 record in the Patriot League.##M:[more]##
Stephanie Lally, of Princeton Junction, and a 2006 High School South graduate who is a sophomore forward at Crown College in St. Bonifacius, Minn., was named the MVP in the NCCCAA Division II championship game against Philadelphia Biblical University. Her penalty kick helped lead the Lady Storm women’s soccer team to victory after a tie game and two scoreless overtime periods. She had nine goals and seven assists in five games during the championship run. Lally was also named to the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference All-Conference First Team for the second consecutive year.
Kelly McLaughlin, a High School South graduate, was a starter for American University’s women’s soccer team in all of its 18 games this season. The sophomore finished with five assists.
Kristina Shemming, a sophomore on the College of New Jersey’s women’s soccer team, and a High School South graduate, played in all 23 games of the season.
The team reached the semifinals of the NCAA Division III tournament. She had one assist this season.
