Deaths

Ellen G. Mobarek, 56, of West Windsor died December 3. A memorial service was held at the St. Mary’s Coptic Orthodox Church in New Brunswick on January 15. Arrangements were by A.S. Cole Funeral Home in Cranbury.

Susan Earl, 60, died December 27 at her home in Mesa, Arizona. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Kathryn and Mark Brower of Plainsboro. Donations may be made to the ALS Association of Arizona, 5040 East Shea Boulevard, Suite 151, Scottsdale, AZ 85254.

Eileen Frances Page, 89, of Plainsboro, died December 28 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Hamilton. Born in Melbourne, Australia, she immigrated to the United States in 1941 on the SS Mariposa, the last American civilian ship to cross the Pacific Ocean prior to the war. She moved to Plainsboro two years ago.

Survivors include sons, Peter Page of Trenton and Michael Kessler of Concord, California; daughter Diane Robbins of Kissimmee, Florida; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and an extensive family in Australia.

Her remains will be scattered in the Pacific Ocean at Ocean Beach, San Francisco, following funeral services on January 21.

Evelyn K. Cohen, 92, died at Greenwood House in Ewing on December 28. Survivors include a daughter, Phyllis Grodnicki of Plainsboro. Guest book is at www.flynnfuneral.com.

Esther Mitman, 85, died January 4, in Buckingham Place, Princeton. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Robert Murray of West Windsor. Laura Faye Kendall, 93, died January 4 at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute in Fort Pierce, Florida. Survivors include a son, David Kendall of West Windsor.

Robert W. Ashbock Jr., 54, a lifelong area resident, died January 5. He was raised in West Windsor and graduated from Princeton High School. He worked at Firmenich as a traffic manager for 33 years.

Survivors include his mother, Norma T. Ashbock of West Windsor; his sons, Jeffrey R. Ashbock and Jason M. Ashbock of Hamilton; his sister, Diane A. Darlington of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania; and his companion, Therese Grillo.

Donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Helen Frances Wuensch, 79, died January 6 at Compassionate Care Hospice. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Nicholas L. and Joyce Wuensch of West Windsor; and grandchildren, Leah and Nicholas W. Wuensch.

Murray M. Linka, 91, of Monroe Township died January 7 in the University Medical Center at Princeton. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Gary Schneider of West Windsor.

Mary Yee Jong of Lexington, Massachusetts, died January 7. Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and David Mark of West Windsor. Donations may be made to Boston Chinese Evangelical Church, 249 Harrison Avenue, Boston, MA 02111.

James H. Mills, 94, of Plainsboro died at the Pavilions at Forrestal. Born in Virginia, he lived in Plainsboro since 2002. The funeral was at the Blackwell Memorial Home in Pennington.

Survivors include his sister, Marion McBride; sons Donald and David Mills; daughters and sons-in-law Dorothy and Joseph Highland, Debbie and William Jones, and Susan and Edward Kaplan; and grandchildren Rebecca, Michael, and Vladimir Highland; Jason, Chad, and Erin Kaplan; and Jeffrey Jones and Jennifer Boyd; and great-granddaughter Emily Boyd.

Mary Kathleen Schoenauer, 83, of Walnutport, Pennsylvania, died January 12 at St. Nicholas Rectory, where she lived with her son, Reverend Francis P. Schoenauer. Survivors include another son, Ciaran M. Schoenauer of West Windsor. Donations may be made to St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Memorial Society, 1152 Oak Road, Walnutport, PA 18088.

Katrina Johnson Jordan Burnett, 71, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, died at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center on January 12. Survivors include a daughter, Kimberly A. Jordan of Plainsboro.

Barbara Conlon, 68, of West Windsor died January 12 at her home. Born in Staten Island, she lived in West Windsor for 40 years. She was employed by the Acme supermarket for the past 15 years.

Survivors include two sisters and brothers-in-law, Gloria and Harold Porter and Rosemary and Russell Shattuck; one brother, Edward Conlon; and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements by A.S. Cole Funeral Home in Cranbury.

Richard Cohen, 63, of West Windsor died January 13 at Beth Israel Hospital in New York City. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he lived in Manalapan for 30 years, and moved to West Windsor six years ago.

He was executive vice president for Amalgamated Bank in New York City.

Survivors include his wife, Susan; his two sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas and Jodi Cohen of Woodcliff Lake and Jason Cohen and Lori Palace of Short Hills; his two brothers, Paul Cohen of Brooklyn and Stewart Cohen of Reseda, California; and grandchildren, Joshua, Rebecca, Samuel, and Jamie Cohen. Arrangements by Bloomfield Cooper Jewish Chapels in Manalapan.

Irene Chasko Belt, 82, died January 13. Survivors include a son, Steve Pae of Plainsboro. Arrangements by Baldwin Fairchild Winter Garden Chapel.

Baby Girl Alerte of Plainsboro died January 15. Arrangements by Perry Funeral Home in Newark.

Mary V. Iannucci of Plainsboro died January 15. Services were held at St. Gregory Roman Catholic Church in Hamilton Square.
