At North, A Bright Golden Haze Looms

There will be a bright golden haze on the meadow around High School North as the spring musical “Oklahoma!” opens on Saturday, March 4, and runs weekends through Sunday, March 12. Tickets are $10.##M:[more]##The Rodgers and Hammerstein classic based on Lynn Riggs’ play, “Green Grows the Lilacs,” is set in the Midwest after the turn of the last century. It opened at the St. James Theater in 1943, the Broadway Theater in 1951, the Palace Theater in 1979, and the Gershwin Theater in 2002. The play has received Tony awards, Grammy Awards, Academy Awards, and a Pulitzer Prize.
