Kids-for-Kids, a non-profit charitable organization established in 1995 by Carly Rothman of Princeton, is moving its signature event to West Windsor next month. On Sunday, May 7, Kids-for-Kids is hosting the 11th annual Walk-for-Chalk from 1 to 4 p.m. at West Windsor Community Park. Activities at the event include a moonwalk, pony rides, carnival games, arts and crafts, face painting, spin art, rides, and music by Tony Dimayuga from Dynamic DJs. Food will be provided by Carlucci’s and Emack and Bolio’s. Tickets are $5.##M:[more]##
In addition to the walk-a-thon, other fundraisers are planned. Grover Middle School and the high school chapters are having a car wash at the Mobil gas station on Saturday, April 22. The high school chapter is having a bake sale on Saturday, April 29, at Acme.
Three years ago Alexandra Olgin of West Windsor founded a Grover Middle School chapter of Kids-for-Kids. Alexandra is now active in the high school chapter, and her sister, Danielle, a seventh grader at Grover, is now leading the Grover chapter. The Kids-for-Kids of West Windsor-Plainsboro High School chapter is led by seniors Jen Lee and Miki Leong.
Although Kids-for-Kids is a student-based organization, it is seeking volunteers of all ages who wish to become involved in the planning of the walk-a-thon. Walkers solicit sponsors prior to the walk with checks payable to Kids-for-Kids. For more information about how to get involved in Kids-for-Kids, the walk-a-thon, or to make donations, call Alexandra Olgin at 609-897-0564 or Daryl Rothman at 609-279-0634. — Lynn Miller
