Special Needs Preschool Parents of special needs children entering the West Windsor-Plainsboro School District will benefit by the addition of a new program for pre-school-aged children. ##M:[more]##The district has added two 16-student classes that will include up to eight special needs children and up to eight typically developing students.
The program will be taught by two certified teachers. One has certification in special education, and the other is certified in elementary education.
The class is on a tuition basis for all students. The cost will be $400 per month. If more than 16 applications for each category of student are submitted, enrollees will be selected by lottery. Space in the program is not yet filled. Parents who wish to enroll their students can call for an application from the district’s department of community education, at 609-716-5030.
Previously, parents of special needs children who wished to enroll their children in integrated pre-school programs had to go to Lawrence or Hamilton. The program was added in West Windsor this year because space was made available by declining enrollment in first through third grades.
