Linda L. Coles of Plainsboro received a Mid-Atlantic Emmy nomination for work with NJN Public Television’s “Another View.” Coles, the executive producer of the show, received a nomination in the arts program or special category for the half-hour documentary special Spoken Word Cafe 2005. “Another View” is the longest running African-American series in New Jersey. The show airs the third Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m and the following Friday at 11:30 p.m.
Coles has more than 20 years experience in the broadcasting industry, concentrating primarily on news and public affairs programming. Her work has received numerous regional Emmy nominations and has been cited by the NJ Press Broadcasters Association and Garden State Association of Black Journalists. She has received the Unity Award in Media three times. Most recently Coles’ award-winning documentary on civil rights activist Fannie Lou Hamer was distributed nationally through PBS. She is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and currently serves as president of the Garden State Association of Black Journalists. Emmy winners will be announced on Saturday, September 9, during the annual awards ceremony in Philadelphia.
