Maya Kaisth, 11, was accepted into the People to People World Leadership Forum and will join a select group of students in Washington, D.C., in early April. A sixth grade student at Grover Middle School, she will earn high school credit while studying leadership and exploring some of the United States’ most prominent monuments and institutions.##M:[more]##
She was nominated based on scholastic merit, civic involvement, and leadership potential. Forum delegates participate in small-group discussions and exercises to experience first-hand how leaders develop strategies, make decisions, build consensus, and foster change. President Dwight D. Eisenhower founded the People to People Student Ambassador Programs to foster world citizenship in 1956.
