“Most financial institutions in the United States do a great job of training their advisors in the details of each product they offer,” he says. “However, there is a gap in training advisors on how to communicate with their clients.”
Calendrillo and his wife of 33 years, Marian, a Spanish teacher at South Brunswick High School, have lived in Plainsboro for 21 years. Their son Adam, is a graduate of Princeton Day School, Tulane University, and the University of Houston Law Center. He lives in Houston, Texas. Their daughter, Stephanie, a graduate of Solebury School in New Hope, is a junior majoring in equine science at the University of Kentucky, and is an active and successful equestrian competitor.
Born in Paterson, Calendrillo graduated from University of Findlay and received his master’s degree from New York University. He joined Merrill Lynch as an account executive and was promoted to the position of senior training consultant eight years later. He later was a member of the American Stock Exchange, senior trainer at Citicorp, manager of PaineWebber’s Management Development Program, and director of investment and sales training for NatWest Bank. He is president of Paul Calendrillo Associates of Princeton, located in Plainsboro.
