Carolyn Tryon, 71, of Champaign, Illinois, died September 30. A graduate of Princeton High School, she studied at Julliard and Manhattan College of Music to pursue a career in music, teaching piano and voice. Survivors include a sister, Patricia T. Elizabeth R. Gauther, 85, a former Plainsboro resident, died October 16 at Meadow Lakes in Hightstown. Survivors include her husband Robert V. Gauthier; her daughter, Kathleen M. Francica of Huntsville, Alabama; her sons, Robert V. Gautherier or Santa Ana, California, and Thomas J. Gauthier of Monmouth Junction; her brothers, John and Clemence Rachel; and eight grandchildren. Blanche Evelyn Cantu, 98, of Springfield, Massachusetts died October 22 in Springfield. Born in Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania, she is a former resident of Plainsboro and retired as a secretary from Princeton University.
Survivors include her step-sons Plainsboro Mayor Peter Cantu of Plainsboro, and James Cantu of Banning, California; step-daughter Gertrude Ruane of Sarasota, Florida; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; her niece and caregiver, Barbara Piaget; and several other nieces and nephews.

Amel Stark, 91, of West Windsor died October 24 at Princeton Care Center. Born in Trenton, he graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and the New Jersey Law School. One of the founders of Stark & Stark law firm, he was a former U.S. bankruptcy judge for New Jersey from 1969 to 1985.
He served as a captain in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater from 1941 to 1945.
Stark was a member of Har Sinai Temple, Cyrus Lodge No. 5 Free & Accepted Masons, the Consistory, Shrine Temple, Order of the Moose, and the Eagles. He was also a member of the New Jersey Bar and American Bar associations.
Survivors include his wife, Natalie Wiener Stark; daughter and son-in-law, Hinda Jane and William Travis of Escondido, California; son and daughter-in-law, David and Laura Stark of Evergreen, Colorado; grandchildren, Nicole Travis and Joseph LeMiexu; and brother Bernard Stark of New Brunswick.
Theresa C. Dzurkoc Bialczak, 82, of Hamilton Township died October 24 at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton. Anna K. Nurko, 85, died October 25 at the University Medical Center at Princeton. She was a former Plainsboro resident. H. Guy Smith, 83, died October 29 at Bear Creek Assisted Living in West Windsor. Born in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, he lived in Hillsborough for 35 years before moving to West Windsor four years ago.
He earned a Purple Heart and the Distinguished Flying Cross in the U.S. Army Air Corps, where he served in the European Theater and over Normandy.
A graduate from Colby College bachelor’s degree in Business, he retired as a controller at Bristol Myers Squibb after more than 20 years of service.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Mary Glenn Smith; his son, Timothy Smith of New Brunswick; four daughters and sons-in-law, Leslie and Dennis Taulbee of Westchester, Ohio, Pamela and Douglas Farr of Hopewell, Kathleen and Gerard Lynch of Princeton, and Maureen and Scot Shuck of Garrett Park, Maryland. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; and his sister, Helen Smoll of Pennsylvania.

John W. Kalajian, 80, of West Windsor died October 26 at the University Medical Center at Princeton.
A U.S. Army veteran, he fought at the Battle of the Bulge. He retired after many years of service at Princeton University and was a cellist and teacher in Princeton for many years. He was a member of Dutch Neck Presbyterian Church
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Raymond Ranallo of Ewing Township, Jocelyn Kalajian and John Middleton of Mahtomedi, Minnesota; three sisters, Eleanor Kalajian of Trenton, Louise Pickering of California, and Lorraine Kalajian of Trenton; and three grandchildren.

Richard C. Hastings III, 45 of Newington, Connecticut, died October 29 in a home fire.
