Auditions

VSA Arts of New Jersey seeks authors of poems, essays, and plays by New Jersey residents age 18 and over for its 11th annual Joyce Indik New Jersey Wordsmith Competition. Higher Education

Mercer County College classes begin on Monday, August 30, with some changes. High School graduates who rank in the top 20 percent of the 2004 graduating class are eligible for free tuition through the NJSTARS program. With the cooperation of Fairleigh Dickinson University, students may complete their bachelor degrees in business and technology and in hospitality management on the West Windsor campus. Scavenger Hunt

Hamilton Township is hosting a township-wide scavenger hunt involving more than 25 area businesses through October 4. Consumers collect proof of going to a hardware store, buying a pizza, or visiting parks and recreational facilities. Consumers should submit their entry forms and proofs and a grand prize will be announced in October. For information call the Big Event, the management company hosting the event, at 609-259-9539

Donations Needed

Crisis Ministry of Princeton and Trenton seeks school supplies for needy children in Mercer County. Needed are new backpacks, pens, notebook paper, notebooks, binders, folders, glue, index cards, crayons, markers, colored pencils, rulers, lunchboxes, calculators, and highlights. The collection continues through August.
